I shared a room last night with two girls, one French, one American. The hostel switched it around (apparently) so that I had the same gender roommates. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because of the bed. It wasn’t horrific, but I wouldn’t think even a cheap hotel has mattresses like this. I woke up very early in the morning (for me), and didn’t feel like spending money on a restaurant. So I went to a grocery store called “Spar” and got yogurt, canned peaches, apples, and orange juice, The hostel has silverware and dishware available for its guests, so I had no problem eating breakfast. Afterward, I looked at tours, but most of them had already left, weren’t going, or went places I had been to (ie Ring of Kerry). I settled on the Cathedral nearby, and Killarney National Park, which surprisingly is just down the street. However, it is absolutely HUGE. I spent most of my time walking all over the place, through woods the majority of the time. I visited Ross Castle and the lake, which was spectacular on this sunny day. But, due to my stupidity, I accidentally deleted those photos. 🙁 Because the castle was so far away, I managed to only get a few snapshots on my way out of the park. I got a few blisters from my walk, but heck was it worth it. I went around town again this afternoon and had dinner in a pub, before limping back to the hostel. I am going to bed shortly, since I have to wake up early and catch the bus to Lismore.
