Summer Update

Summer is finally here, along with the 11 pm sunsets and abundance of sunshine. Until this week, late spring was turning out much colder than earlier in the season. It was a little nerve wracking for me, since I started my vegetable garden early in the season. The flowers started coming out in February, and I started growing my seedlings in March! I’ve been taking advantage of the weather by starting to fetch my groceries via bicycle and taking walks with G on the beach.

The change in season has accompanied some major changes for me at home. I started facilitating use of my birthday present. I’ve taken over nine sessions of license lessons with a driving school here in Noordwijk. My instructor is an English teacher, and provides very memorable lessons each time we drive. G and I made a huge leap forward and placed a bid on a house last week. The owner accepted the bid and we’re in the process of acquiring all of the business/paperwork necessary to complete the purchase. We won’t officially have the house until September 1. It is located in the neighboring town, closer to the center of the Bollenstreek (Tulip region).

Here are a few pictures from this spring 🙂
