An American friend of mine named “K” happened to be in Europe for several weeks. I invited her up to The Netherlands to visit and stay with us. We started our day with a “crash course” tour of the Netherlands. We drove across Zuid-Holland, from our area all the way down to Rotterdam. Luckily enough, the flower season has already begun here. The daffodils are already coming up. The day was tolerable and a little chilly. We drove along the coastline and south towards the Port of Rotterdam. Heerema had their ships docked there, and the view was very nice. At sunset, we went to Kinderdijk. It is a park consisting of several dozen windmills showcasing how the system works for historical Dutch drainage systems. The sight was beautiful.
