Our Museum Cards arrived this week. It allows unpaid access to the vast majority of Dutch museums, including places like the Anne Frank House or local castles. We used our cards for the first time at theĀ Beeld en Geluid Museum (Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision) in Hilversum. It is a media museum and central archive focused on Dutch mediums. The structure is modern, and presents material in an unconventional manner. I experienced everything from a YouTube exhibit to statutes of giant dolphins.
On the trip back home, we drove through the fortified town of Naarden. The town center is very traditional, and guarded on all sides by the city walls. The format of the town is a star fort, which is very visible from the sky. We took a brief walk on the town walls overlooking the surrounding waterways.
