Blijdorp Zoo

My fantastic family went out today to Blijdrop Zoo in Rotterdam for my birthday. We celebrated early and had a lot of fun. The visit was courtesy of my brother and sister-in-law, and our niece CA  🙂 This was my first visit to a Dutch zoo.  The fringes of winter weather stuck around throughout the day, but it warmed up eventually. The zoo is a considerable size, and we spent a good portion of the day exploring it. Many of the exhibits were in the middle of changing, but there were a lot of active animals still on display. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I probably found the indoor aquarium the most intriguing. The tanks arched over the walkways, allowing visitors to walk right underneath the bellies of fish, sharks, and sting rays. We concluded the evening at a Chinese restaurant with all of us and my father-in-law. Really wonderful day!
