Brederode Castle

The weather started out nicely today. We went for a drive through the Bollenstreek, and all the way up through Haarlem. We took it easy getting milkshakes and the car washed, since it is a lazy Sunday. It was fun looking at the nice old buildings throughout the area (and the fancy houses). We ended up in Sandpoort-Zuid in Noord-Holland, near the coastline. We soon realized the route went by Brederode Castle. It was built in the 13th century and a “sibling castle” to Muiderslot. Unfortunately, it’s mostly a ruin now. I still found it beautiful.
