Cruquius

Today we took a nice trip around the region again, and visited the Museum De Cruquius. The museum is on the place of a former steam pumping station built in the 1800s for draining a lake. I visited here awhile back on my second trip to the Netherlands in May 2010, but the museum was closed at the time. However, this time we managed to take a tour around the entire facility. We also went into Zandvoort, a town north of Noordwijk along the coastline. The motorcycle ride was cold, so we stopped at a fish stand for kibbeling. This dish is made from pieces of sliced fish dipped in batter and fried. While we ate, we got to watch the sun set over the shoreline. It was quite beautiful.
