The last week of February is my quarterly week break from school. I am spending the end of break in Zeeland with my in-laws. It is always a lot of fun here, and the countryside is beautiful. We took the afternoon to visit the seaside together as a group. All of us looked for shark teeth, but only two of us were successful. I received my shark tooth as a gift 🙂 The beach stretches long in front of the dike, and neighbors an industrial area. The weather was sunny and warm enough to walk the beach without freezing. Breakwater barriers at the middle of the beach provided an interesting location to explore for shells and shark teeth. The rocks were covered with clusters of old mussel shells, and full of small isolated pools of water. Some of the pools had camouflaged crabs and fish, which were very hard to spot. These kinds of strolls on the Dutch beaches are one reason I love the seaside here so much.
