We decided this morning that T should stay one more day, and we headed out again to travel. After messing with camera gear, all three of us stopped by the restaurant “Friends” again. We had their egg/white bread/ bacon/ ham dish once more, I could eat it over and over.
While we were eating, we saw a lot of nice looking horses on the beach, some even pulling low buggy/carts. The ride continued two hours north into Fryslân province, with sights such as locks, nice/very traditional houses, and funny signs coming our way. We stopped halfway across the Afsluitdijk dike at the halfway point, where a monument commemorated its history. The lake on the inland part of the dike was completely frozen with cracked ice and snow. It was VERY cold out and I sat in the car after about ten minutes outside. In Fryslân, we hunted down a town after we saw a sign pointing out, “Sexbierum.” In dutch bier means beer, so it is essentially “Sex and beer town”. On the way back we ended going up to 160 kph, which is 100 mph. We got back home around 9pm, and decided to go to bed shortly after.
