Gardens & Mahon Falls

For the first day since I arrived, there was clear sunshine and bright blue skies. The weather was too nice for staying indoors, so I wandered around Lismore instead. I stopped by the local gallery to see if Mariela was in, but I met Corina (her partner) instead. I walked down the road to the Castle Gardens. It was 8 Euros to get in, but totally worth it. There were wide sweeping green lawns and bushels of flowers growing around the place. I even saw a palm tree in there somewhere.

I later went out with Mariela for lemonade at a place called The Summer House. Shortly after I got back,  I went on the road. I drove to Mahon Falls, a waterfall that lies in the midst of the mountains and the ocean. In fact, you can see Dungarvan Bay from the hills below it. There were tons of lambs and sheep in the hills surrounding the waterfall. The closer you got to the water, the wetter and more treacherous the rocks got. Since the tripod was half broken, I used the rocks as a makeshift tripod for longer exposures.

It was late when I got back (9pm), but I decided to head out with Mariela to a few pubs. I had some sort of cider (which tasted weird), but settled on Jameson’s with cola for the night.  All of us headed to bed at 1 am, pretty tipsy.
