This morning I said goodbye to LH early, and drove AY to Hartford to catch her plane. I borrowed LH’s GPS system, and thank goodness I did. It came in handy for the next leg of my trip. I have a friend named E up in Montréal, which is about three hundred miles and six hours away from Boston. It was very rainy all the way from Connecticut to Montréal. There were lots of low-lying clouds, which crowned the tree lined mountain tops all along the road. I drove a long stretch through Adirondack. The road through there was mostly empty. At the border I went through Canadian customs, and to my surprise the agent knew that my last name was Polish, because another agency member had the same last name. With luck, google maps, and LH’s GPS, I made it to E’s house in one piece. He was pretty much as expected, and a good host. I met his mother and his grandmother as well. We went out to Dagwood’s to try their sandwiches, and it kicks Subway out the door. I was very tired that night, and slept late once I got to bed.
