The hint of better weather has evolved into actual spring the past two weeks. Daffodils and early flowers are already out and the is weather hovering over 10 C / 50 F degrees or higher. Today it leapt to 18 C/64 F and all of us Netherlanders came out to enjoy the weather. We decided to take full advantage of the nice weather. We went to a castle named Muiderslot, located north of Amsterdam. Since we went in the late afternoon, the castle was less crowded and quiet. G even dragged his heavy 4×5 camera around the castle to take pictures. They took us on a tour through fancy old halls and furnishings. I believe it’s one of the best maintained castles I’ve been to!
On the way home, we drove through long routes through Sassenheim, Lisse, and Noordwijkerhout for fun. The flower farmers have already started putting daffodils into the fields, and some of the very early bulbs are coming out. The roads were busier than normal, and we started to see quite a few tourists already coming into the area. It looks like it will be a busy season, but very beautiful. The day got even better when we had pancakes for dinner!
Really nice pics!
