Today we slept in until early afternoon, due to our long dinner the night before. We headed to Rotterdam for dinner with Roberto, a long time friend of G. It took us an incredibly long time with traffic, even though it wasn’t rushhour. Since we had time to kill, we drove around the city looking. A particularly neat building caught our attention, called the Euromast. The building has a rotating observatory at the top, which rotates constantly to give revolving 360 degree views. It was about 17 euros to get in, but it was worth it. Rotterdam is a neat city with some of the tallest buildings in the Netherlands. It was heavily rebuilt post-WWII due to extensive damage during the war.
It took another venture into traffic before we got to Restaurant Okay and met G’s friend. He was very welcoming and spoke English very well. It seems IT oriented people in Europe tend to pick up a lot of English. We stayed at the restaurant for 2.5 hours, when they were closing. It took us until 11ish pm to get home, and after we took some time to hang out with G’s dad.
