We shared this weekend with a visitor from the United States. A former classmate EL visited us for several days. We took the time to give her a tour around North Holland and South Holland. We spent most of today in Den Helder, at the northernmost point of Noord-Holland (North Holland). The area is a historical fortified area, and important part of Dutch naval history. The first visit was Fort Kijkduin, a Napoleonic era fortification that was transformed into a museum and aquarium. We spent the rest of the day inside of the naval Marinemuseum, and touring Zuid-Holland (South Holland) by car. With so little time this weekend, we needed to visit as much as possible!
